This Cookie Policy (the "Policy") explains what cookies are, what types of cookies are placed on your device when you visit Composed Performance at www.composedperformance.com or use our application (together, the "Product"), and how we use them. This Policy also governs our use of similar technologies, including web beacons and software development kits.

This Policy does not address how we deal with your personal data generally. To learn more about how we process your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use & Service.

Current status. At the date above, Composed Performance does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or similar providers, and we do not ourselves set non-essential cookies. Some tools we use to run the Product, such as forms and embedded video, may set cookies of their own (see "Cookies from the tools we use to run the Product" below). This Policy is written to apply to any cookies and similar technologies we use now or introduce later. If we introduce any, we will update this Policy first, and we will put in place the consent and opt-out controls the law requires before we set them.

What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that are sent to or accessed from your web browser or your device's memory. A cookie typically contains the name of the domain (internet location) from which the cookie originated, the "lifetime" of the cookie, and a randomly generated unique number or similar identifier. A cookie also may contain information about your device, such as user settings, browsing history, and activities conducted while using Composed Performance.

There are different types of cookies:

Session cookies

Session cookies expire at the end of your browser session. Composed Performance uses these cookies to help you use our website more efficiently, by allowing us to learn more about how you use our website during one single browser session.

Persistent cookies

Persistent cookies are not automatically deleted when you close your browser. These types of cookies are used to help you sign in to our website quickly and for analytical purposes.

First-party cookies

First-party cookies are placed on your device directly by us. These cookies are used to adapt our website to your browser's language preferences and to better understand your use of our website.

Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies are placed on your device by our service providers, which helps us provide you both a satisfying and safe experience on our website. We do not have control over cookies placed on your device by third parties. If we use third-party cookies, they would generally be of these types: security cookies, analytical cookies, and advertising cookies.

We do not currently use the providers below. If we introduce them, we may work with the following types of service providers that use third-party cookies on our website:

  • Analytics providers. These use cookies and other data collection technologies to collect information about your use of the Product in order to report website trends. Many analytics providers offer their own opt-out tools, which you can find in their privacy information.

  • Advertising measurement providers. Possibly coming soon: if we introduce advertising, these use cookies to assess the effectiveness of advertisements placed on our website.

  • Customer support software providers. These use cookies to help us properly respond to customer requests in a timely manner.

  • Security and content delivery providers. These use cookies to identify trusted web traffic to our website.

Where we use such providers, we will limit what they may do with your personal data through our agreements with them, and we will choose providers with that in mind. Third-party cookies are covered by the third parties' privacy policies. Therefore, should you have any questions regarding use of the cookies by third parties, please contact them directly.

For more information on third-party advertising cookies, interest-based advertising, and how to opt out of that practice by companies participating in industry self-regulation programs, please visit the websites of the relevant industry self-regulation programs for digital advertising.

Similar technologies

Web beacons

Web beacons are graphic images (also known as "pixel tags") that contain a unique identifier enabling us to recognize when someone has visited Composed Performance or opened an email that we or our service provider have sent them.

Software development kits (SDKs)

SDKs are small pieces of code included in apps, which function like cookies and web beacons.

Advertising pixels

Possibly coming soon: if we introduce advertising, we may use an advertising pixel, which is a piece of JavaScript code that helps our service providers measure the cross-device impact of advertising campaigns on social media and other platforms. They can see how many people take action after seeing an advertisement.

Why do we need cookies

When you visit or interact with Composed Performance, we or our service providers may use cookies, web beacons, and other similar technologies in order to learn more about your interactions with our Product. The use of these technologies can help us provide you with a better, faster, and safer experience.

How we use or may use cookies

Cookies play an important role in helping us provide a personal, effective, and safe environment on Composed Performance.

As we make improvements to our website, our use of cookies may vary. Generally, we may use cookies for the following purposes:

Category of use Description
Authentication We use cookies to remember your login credentials so that you are able to log in to our site quickly.
Security We use cookies to enable and support our security features, and to help us detect malicious activity, and monitor for and detect potentially harmful or illegal use of Composed Performance.
Analytics and research These cookies help us understand how Composed Performance is being used and help us customize, improve, and research our features and services.
Advertising (possibly coming soon) If we introduce advertising, these cookies would be used to make our advertising messages more relevant to you. They would perform functions like preventing the same advertisement from continuously re-appearing and ensuring that advertisements are properly displayed.

Authentication and security cookies are essential to the Product. Analytics and advertising cookies are not, and we use them only as described in the next section.

Cookies from the tools we use or may use to run the Product

We use third-party tools to host and run the Product. Some of them set cookies or use similar technologies when you use the Product, even though we do not use them for analytics or advertising.

Tool What it does Cookies it may set Essential?
Website hosting and content delivery Delivers our pages and app content, balances traffic, and protects against attacks Cookies that identify trusted traffic, route requests, and keep your session stable Yes
Forms (contact, sign-up, surveys, scheduling) Lets you send us information and helps prevent spam and abuse Cookies that remember your progress in a form, and anti-spam or bot-protection cookies Yes for security and spam protection. Other cookies from a form provider are not essential.
Embedded video Plays video hosted by a third-party video platform on our pages Cookies or similar technologies set by the video platform when the video loads or plays, for example to deliver the video, remember playback settings, or measure viewing No
Login and account tools Signs you in, keeps you signed in, and protects your account Session and persistent cookies, cookies that guard against cross-site request forgery, and cookies that support multi-factor checks Yes

Where we offer sign-in with a third-party account, that provider may set its own cookies when you choose that option. Where we embed video, the video platform may set cookies of its own, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent before loading embedded video that sets non-essential cookies.

These tools are run by third-party providers acting as our service providers. Cookies they set are covered by their own privacy policies.

Your choices and how to manage cookies

  • EEA and UK. We may set essential cookies (authentication and security) without asking, because the Product needs them. Apart from cookies that embedded third-party content may set (see above), we do not currently set non-essential cookies. If we introduce analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies, or similar technologies for those purposes, we will ask for your consent first, in a way that lets you accept or refuse, and you will be able to change or withdraw your choice at any time, as easily as you gave it.

  • United States. If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies that may count as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under U.S. state privacy laws, we will give you a way to opt out, as described in Section 5.4 of our Privacy Policy. We will also honor opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, that we are able to detect.

  • Health-related data. We do not currently use analytics or advertising providers. If we introduce them, we will not use cookies, web beacons, SDKs, or pixels to send your health-related data, your assessment or self-rating responses, wearable data, or the content of any AI chat to them.

Browser controls

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences, usually under a Privacy or Security menu. Your browser's Help menu explains how to view, block, and delete cookies. However, changes you make to your cookie preferences may make using our website less satisfying. In some cases, you may not be able to use all or part of our site.

On a mobile device, you can typically reset or limit your device's advertising identifier in your operating system's privacy settings.

Cookies table

The table below lists the categories of cookies we use or may use, and the main reasons we would set them. We will update it to list specific cookies when we introduce them.

Category Purpose Type Essential?
Authentication Keeping you signed in and remembering your login First-party cookie Yes
Security Protecting the Product and detecting malicious or harmful traffic First-party and third-party cookies Yes
Analytics and research Understanding how the Product is used and improving it Third-party cookie No, consent or opt-out applies

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when we add or remove cookies or similar technologies. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects your choices, we will tell you and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again.
